Women in the White House

In Cheryl Crow’s song “women in the White House” she does not give you the correct image of the right type of women that should be serving our country. What she gives us is an appropriate song that gets a very good point across, but with the wrong person displayed in the white house. The cover of the CD is portrayed as a sexy woman in high heels with long legs which is to get the attention of the male species. This may work because most males think that is attractive so they will buy the CD for their “wives” so they can see that picture.

Cheryl gives us a good tone, melody, and good choice of lyrics which makes the song catchy, so it is stuck in the heads of the listener all day. On a harder more serious note most women believe that it is time for a woman to be elected into office. I feel that if the women can be man enough to handle the war and any other type of major crisis like our past future leaders have she should be able to run for president but if she gets all girly-girly on us and can’t handle it she should be nowhere near the election. So with all of this said I believe a woman being elected into office would not be a bad thing if she can handle all the pressures of leadership. As far as the song goes, Cheryl did a good job getting her point across

  1. This song surely was stuck in my head for the rest of the day. It sticks with you and the words were easy to catch up on. I agree that a lot of people think it is past due for women to have a shot at running the country. I don't see why that is such a big deal. If Cheryl Crow wanted to be taken seriously, and wanted people to see the views she did then she probably shouldn't have made this song so annoying and she shouldn't have choose such a "sexy" image for the cover of her CD. You made some really good points in your blog post.
