Hello my name is Samone Johnson. I am 19 from Chicago I graduated from Danville Christian Academy.I am majoring in Radiological Technology at DACC and I hope to gain the necessary skills that I need to success in my field. I hope to learn how to become a better writer, and how to be able to put my writing skills to practice. I also am striving to use my writing to assist me in going further in to my fiield of study even as far as getting my Master's Degree. I am voting for the name of our blog to be "Blog 101".

Let the Voting Commence!

Good Morning Everyone,
Nominations for the blog name have now officially closed.  Please read through the posts your peers have written in prep. for your assignment that's due this evening, and as you do so, decide which suggestion for the blog title you like the best.  Post your choice as a comment to this post.  You will have until Monday evening to vote.  I know we are in IL, but please vote only once. I will tally the votes Tuesday morning when I return to campus, and change the name of the blog accordingly.  Have a good weekend! (And don't forget to come to class this AM.) -Ms. Jarmer

Hello my name is Dalton Burks.  I am 17 years old and currently a senior at Westville High School.  I really enjoy participating in sports but the only sport I play in high school is football.  My plans after high school are to attend DACC for two years and transfer to a 4 year university while majoring in either engineering or sports management, just depends what course my life takes.  I'm taking these college courses while I am still in high school to make the transition easier when fully enrolled in college next fall. As for my goals for this rhetoric class is to make myself a more skilled writer.  I think of myself as a pretty easy going person and for the most part can get along with anybody.  A good title for the blog should be Blogging 101 because most students, like myself, are blogging for the first time.

About Me

Hi my name is Megan Grimes. I am a recent graduate from Hoopeston Area. I was one of the two salutatorians for our class. I was in mayor's youth council my freshman year and was in Link Crew and National Honor Society my junior and senior year. I also, played golf and softball for my four years of high school and I made it to sectionals three times in golf. I was the only senior on my golf team last year and was the best on the team. This is my first year at DACC and I will be majoring in accounting. I plan on transferring to Illinois State or Eastern Illinois after I graduate from DACC. I wanted to play golf in college but DACC does not have a girls team. I have worked at the community bank in Hoopeston since last March. I do not have any brothers or sisters but my dad likes to think his cat is my brother. For this semester I want to improve on my writing and work on expressive papers. I think the blog should be called "blog 101."

Me

My name is Kamaren Cole. I am 19 years old and my birthday is August 18th. I am from New Albany, Indiana. I went to New Albany High School and I gratuated from there in 2012. At New Albany I played basketball and soccer. I currently hold the record at New Albany for most points scored in a single game with 48 points. In soccer I hold 3 records one being most goals scored in a game with 6 and the other two being most goals scored in a single season and most goals scored in a career with 40 and 81 respectively. I am currently on a scholarship here at DACC for basketball. I chose to play basketball at the next level instead of soccer honestly just because I don't like dealing with the weather changes in soccer. I have a older sister that is 10 months older than me and she also plays basketball for DACC. I also have a bother that is 5 years older than me. I am only 5 feet tall. One of my interests are shoes, I own over 60 pairs. I am usually quiet when I first meet somebody, but after awhile I end up talking a lot.  That is really all there is to know about me, I'm a simple person.

all about me

Hello, my name is Kyle Douglas McMasters. I am 19 years old and I graduated from Catlin High School in the top 10% of my class. I have two brothers, Brady and Ethan, and two sisters, Zoe and Emily. I am the oldest in my family. I work at pizza time in Catlin as a night shift manager and delivery driver. In high school I participated in Environmental Club, FFA, National Honor Society, Band, and Golf. I volunteer at the Catlin Fire Department, I have been there for 3 years. I love country music, being outdoors, and working on cars. I plan to study criminology at DACC for two years then transfer to Western Illinois University and earn my bachelors degree in crime scene investigation.

Introducing Drew

Hey everyone, My name is Drew Corbin. I am a 2012 graduate of Armstrong High School, a tiny school in the cornfields of Vermilion County, for those of you who don't know. Being only 17 years old, I am sure I am one of the youngest students at DACC, but perhaps not quite the youngest. I am majoring in Political Science, and I am planning to get my Law degree after seven more years of school, starting about a week and a half ago. I am an ambitious  future politician. I enjoy challenges; they keep me busy, and keep me motivated. I can still be lazy, though. My number one goal for the class I am writing this blog for (ENG 101) is to get me in writing shape. In other words, I want to be able to write with ease, in spite of a demanding amount of speed, quality, and quantity. As a Law major, I have to plan on writing a lot. In a way, this is my  most important Gen. Ed. class that I am taking. It is serving as a practice tool for the real deal. As for the blog, I kind of like the idea. I'm a new blogger, but from what I can tell, it is a lot like Facebook; however, the blog is for a more exclusive group, and is composed of  a lot better material than most Facebook statuses. I wouldn't know how it compares to Twitter; I don't have a Twitter account. Anyway, I hope everyone else finds this blog enjoyable. If anyone want's to talk politics, I'm your guy!

Myself, in a tiny box.

My name is Nathaniel.

I'm twenty four years old.

I put off college while I pursued some different job opportunities. Those worked out for a time, and taught me a lot about who I was. They just happened to teach me that I wasn't doing what I wanted.

I'm part of the Vineyard, which is a local church.
It's where the real focus of my life is dedicated.
Among other things, I've been a small group leader for the last two semesters. Now I'm entering a time of training new leaders.

If you don't know what a small group is, you should definitely ask. Mine was a pretty good time, and I feel the new leaders will be at least as magical.

I wouldn't have them otherwise.

I expect this class to help me grow towards freedom in my writing. While I will enjoy the personal outlet, I'm digging the sharing of thoughts. Reading some of the other entries, it's already given a real depth to some individuals that I (no offense) wouldn't have attributed to them otherwise. Some of that may come from everyone being so quiet, due in part to the somewhat intimidating presence of Mrs. Jarmer. Though I'm sure she doesn't mean to...

We'll see how that progresses.

For a blog title, I really like:

Room 109
Knowing > Not
We Voted For This.

                                                  Nathaniel Y.

About Me

Hi everyone! My name is Brooke Kinney. I graduated in 2012 from Hoopeston Area High School and I am now majoring in Pre-Occupational Therapy. After attending DACC for two years, I plan  to transfer to Parkland through Eastern, IL. I love sports, especially basketball and softball. I played basketball and softball all four years of high school and was a part of the National Honor Society. I enjoy doing anything that has physical activity and am always willing to try anything new!  I had intentions to try out for DACC's softball team but I recently tore the ligament between my knee and tibia so I am still not able to do much physical activity. I am still in therapy and will hopefully get released soon. I currently work at CVS in Hoopeston, IL and I love it there. I enjoy helping people out in any way that I can and making their day just a little better. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, so the little free time that I do have, I spend it with them. I have a twin brother, Ben, who is also attending DACC. I hope to become a better writter from this class and will hopefully get to know some new people. I think this site should be called Rhet 101. Thanks for reading my blog!

-Brooke Kinney :)

About Me

Hi, my name is Matthew Stadler.  I was born in Monterey, California and lived there until my first birthday.  My family moved to Rankin, Illinois and we have been here ever since.  I have one sister who graduated from Illinois State University with a degree in Biological Sciences.  My mother and father did not attend a college, but instead elected to enlist in the the United States Army.

I attended school in Hoopeston Area.  I am currently attending Danville Area Community College with the hopes of transferring into either Illinois State , Eastern Illinois University, or potentially even the University of Illinois, if everything pans out well while I am at DACC.  I have been very undecided when it comes to figuring out what I want to major in while in college.  I do believe that a career in something that deals with math or a career in which I can help people are ones that I would enjoy doing very much.  Eletrical Engineering seems to be the front-runner at the moment, but that could change at any time, and probably will.

While enrolled in Rhetoric and Composition, I hope to learn how better express my thoughts and ideologies on paper.  At the moment I feel like I have some difficulties in doing so.

As for my suggestion as to what this blog's title should be, I can't say I have any preference.  I am sure that whatever name gets chosen will be fine.

About Me

Hi everyone, my name is Makayla Stark. I graduated in 2012 from Oakwood High School. I am now going to DACC and I am majoring in Nursing. I enjoy playing sports and spending time with my friends. In high school I played Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. My plan was to play Volleyball for DACC, but at the end of Softball season I broke my hand and needed surgery and did not get released to play in time. I also race go-karts, and I have been doing that for almost nine years now. The season goes from April-October every Saturday night. Some people might see it as boring, but it's something I have always been around and something I will continue to be around. Racing runs in my family and I would never change that. I currently work at Rainbow of Hope, for those of you who don't know what that is, it is a Primary School that ranges from the age of three year old to third grade. I love my job, and I love what I do, which is why I'm pursuing the medical field in Pediatrics. To me, kids make my day better. I also have a little sister that is now a little over five months old. Being around her and working with kids for a little over a year has had a huge impact on what I have decided to do with my life. Some of you may find my life boring, but I don't think it could really get any better. Enjoy!

Sincerely, Makayla :)

Emily C

Hey there everyone, I'm Emily Cannon. I graduated from Georgetown Ridgefarm High School. In high school I was very involved. I was a cheer captain, senior vice president, student senate vice president, National Honor Society treasurer, I played volleyball, I was in chorus, I was homecoming queen, and I was also involved in a volunteerism class my junior year. My volunteerism class taught me a lot and gave me quite a few life experience lessons. To go from doing so much in high school to going to DACC now, is a very different and weird transition for me. As of right now my plan is to go to DACC for 2 years, while taking my general ed. I'm not sure as to what I want my occupation to be, which drives me insane. I just wish I knew what I wanted to go into, but I suppose time will tell. For right now I work at Mikes Grill in Tilton. I love working curb service there. Its the best of both worlds for me. I make money, while coming face to face with new people and I get to enjoy the outdoors. My life is pretty much spent hanging out with my family and friends. I couldn't picture my life without them honestly. My mom has got to be my best friend. I love the TV show Big Brother, I'm pretty much addicted. I also like Indy Car Racing. I think that this site should be called the Rhet Circle. I'm not really sure why I would call it this but, it has a good ring to it. I hope to gain a lot from this class. I've always loved to write and I'm hoping that love will be ongoing and I'll be able to learn a lot this semester. But I'm going to quit rambling on now.

Sincerely, Emily Cannon :)
How's everyone doing out there tonight? My name is Ashlie Fleming. I recently graduated from Georgetown Ridge Farm High School, where everyday is a great day to be a buffalo! I am a huge Justin Bieber fan. I can sing every single one of his songs word for word. I could listen to him all day, everyday, and never get tired of his music. A couple of things that I like to do on my free time are reading and writing. My favorite book series, at the moment, is The Hunger Games. I am anxiously waiting for the second movie to come out already. That's how overly excited I am for this! I also spend alot of time at Georgetown Foods where I am curently employed part time. Everyone there is an absolute joy to work with. There is hardly ever a dull moment while I'm on the clock with those people around. I am a pretty bubbly girl. I will laugh and joke about anything and everything. I believe that life isn't about finding yourself, it's about creating yourself. A good name for our blog would be "Bloggers of America".

About Me

Hi my name Is William Miller I recently graduated from Bismarck Henning in 2012. I played soccer all four years of high school in co-op with Hoopeston Area. I also played baseball my freshman year, I did not continue playing even though I enjoy playing. My sophomore year I decided to give track and field a shot since I run a lot in soccer. Let’s just say I did not like it too much and did not run the last two years in high school. My soccer career in high school ended sooner than I hoped for because of a knee injury I received in one of the games. I work at Watson’s General tire. I am majoring in automotive technology and hope to open up a shop of my own in the future. As far as this blogging I have never done it before. I have high expectations for this class and hope that I will start to enjoy writing more. I think a good name for this blog would be About Me.

                William M.

Priyanka B

Hey everyone, I'm Priyanka Bhakta. I'm from Danville, IL and I'm a senior at Westville High School. I'm a very friendly, I can get along with just about anyone. I participate in many things; chorus, dance team, student council, drama club, and much more. I like to talk a lot, make jokes, laugh, and pretty much have every day be a wonderful day. I'm trilingual, I can speak English and Gujarati (it's a language spoke in northern India) and I can fluently understand Hindi (the majority of India speak this). When I go to college, I plan to major in Pre-Med  or Biology because I plan on pursuing the career as either an orthopedic surgeon or as a neurosurgeon. It's always been an interest of mine to become a surgeon. I hope to move to Chicago for college next fall.
I would like to learn how to expand on my writing skills, I've never been an excellent writer, I tend to over-think on how to go about writing papers; I want to overcome my fear of writing. I'd also like to express my opinions thoroughly through the papers we do in class. My main goal for this class is to become a better writer in hope that it will help my fear of writing in the long run.
My suggestions for our blog's title are:

  • Working Writers
  • Regular Writers
  • Rocking Writers
  • Rocking Rhetoric
  • Untitled  (because we are writers and it's mysterious :) )

This has just been a little part of me and my life. I hope to get to know everyone in class and we learn things about each one of us that will be with us for years to come.

Hi everyone! My name is Zack Girton I am 18 years old. I am a recent graduate of Oakwood High school. At Oakwood I played football, basketball, and baseball. I really enjoyed my time as a Comet but I am excited to be a Jag. I play baseball here at DACC, I plan on playing here for two years and hopefully transferring to a four year school. I am a huge sports guy, if the TV is on in my house it’s on a game of some sorts or ESPN. I am a huge Penn State football fan, don’t argue with me about what has happened, you will lose. I am also a Chicago Cubs fan and a Green Bay Packers fan. I have not decided on a major but I would really like to be a radio play by play man or a college baseball coach. I have one younger brother who is a sophomore at Oakwood. I am a very laid back kid who is easy to get along with. I think this whole blog thing in Rhet 101 could be really cool and I hope to get to know some of you.

Hi everyone! My name is Sierra Card, and I graduated from Bismarck in 2012. I have two younger brothers that I am very close with, and a boxer puppy named Metta. I just recently moved out of my parents house, and I am learning that living on your own isn't all that it's cracked out to be. I plan to attend DACC for two years and then I plan to transfer to Southern Illinois Edwardsville. I am undecided on my major, but have finally narrowed it down to two completely different subjects, criminal justice or elementeray education. I am a part time waitress at Garfield's Restaurant and Pub, and we are all like a big happy family. Come see us! I hope to better my writing, and learn to enjoy writing more from this class. I have never blogged before so I am a little apprehensive about how this will work out. I think a good blog name would be Thoughts in Abundance.

Thank you!

-Sierra C

Hey everyone! I am Andra Wilt. I have recently graduated from Oakwood High School in May of 2012. In high school I played soccer and softball, I was also the yearbook editor, along with the FCCLA president. I come from a pretty large blended family. I have two older sisters, two older brothers, and two younger sisters. I plan to attend DACC for two years then transfer to Beaumont University in Tennessee to study to be an Occupational Therapist. I have never written a blog before so I don’t really know what they are supposed to be like. Honestly I feel a little dumb writing a blog, I feel like I’m just rambling on about nonsense. I am kind of interested in what everyone else writes about and to see how this whole blogging thing turns out. In this class I expect to become a better writer I guess. I think we should name this blog Random Nonsense.

-Andra W.
Hi, my name is Nicholas Woods, and  I'm from Westville, Illinois.  I am currently a senior at Westville High School.  I play football and paritcipate in track and field.  I took a class during the summer here at Dacc but, this is my first year taking college classes.  So far, my college classes are going well; and I am liking the transition.  While taking this class I hope to improve my writing as a whole, so that it will prepare me for more difficult classes down the road.  I'm hoping to transfer to a different college on a track scholarship.  While at that college I hope to major as a Sports Med Doctor.  I am a very easy person to get along with, I'm friendly and I pretty much talk to just about every body.  I think Rhetoric 101 will be a good blogging topic.
Hey everyone, my name is Emily Shouse. I graduated from Danville High School in 2012, and currently still live in Danville. I haven't fully decided on what I want to major in, but I narrowed it down between Photography or Graphic Design. I plan on going to DACC for this year, and hopefully after that I will be able to transfer to either Illinois State or Indiana State to get my bachelor's in Fine Arts. I have always been an artsy type of person ever since I was little. Some things I enjoy doing in my spare time are listening to music, drawling, playing music, photography, watching horror movies, going to concerts, and just being around friends and family. What I expect to get out of this Rhetoric class is a better understanding of writing essays, and how I can become better at getting my point across to the reader. As for a name for this blog, I think
"Rhetoric 101 - Student Blog," could be a good name just because it is simple, but i've seen some other good name's people have suggested as well, but that is just my opinion.

Rants of Nobody

Why good day my fellow classmates, I hope this post finds you well. In case you were wondering this post is thanks to Codie Rome who I am. I am roughly six feet and two inches in height and spend my free time on the computer. I spend my time on the computer looking at how video games work or just watching YouTube. My favorite person to watch on YouTube is Toby Turner and if you're interested here is a link http://youtu.be/WteF0j5gYGk. Back on topic my major is currently an engineer of some sort although the specifics as to what kind of engineer I am yet unsure. I am however leaning towards either being a nuclear engineer or a software engineer. As you may gather from the above I am quite capable in math and science, so if you ever find yourself in need of assistance for one of those particular subjects i would be happy to oblige.

Now for the topic at hand I do not know what to expect in this class other than a lot of writing. As for the name of this blog I expect to see a lot of suggestions like "Blogtastic" or something of that nature. I would much rather prefer something humorous like "Discussions of a class that doesn't know what they're doing"

Sincerely,

Codie Rome

Megan H

Hi everyone, my name is Megan Hiner I am 20 Years old. My birthday is November 24. I am from Knightstown Indiana. I graduated High school from Knightstown High School in 2011. This is my second year here at DACC. I am an athlete,I'm on a basketball scholorship for DACC. This is my first season playing in awhile. I had to sit out last season due to injuries. I am currently undecided with my major. I would love to be a Nurse, but the medical field is so competitive, its really hard to get into. My expierence here at DACC hasn't been that bad. I like living on my own, I have one roommate Emily Montgomery. I feel like I have known her my whole life its weird. Living here has taught me a lot, living on my own, paying my own bills, and managing my money. I am a very outgoing person. I love to meet new people and have a good time. After DACC I hope to transfer to a big school. I would love to go to Purdue University. I hope I get to meet and get to know at least some of you.

Thanks,

Megan
Hello everyone! My name is Amanda Wade. I am 18 years old and the youngest of four children. The oldest one is 32 years old. Seems like a pretty big gap, right? I am also the only girl. People always ask me if I wish I had a sister, and actually, I don't. Not because of any sharing issues, but because my brothers are the biggest influences in my life, and I wouldn't want that to ever change. Unfortunately though, my brother Brandon passed away in early 2010. It shook our family to the core, but we have all coped in our own ways. I plan on getting a tattoo with his ashes mixed in with the ink. It's my own little dedication to him I guess you could say.

Anyway, back to the purpose of this post. I am majoring in Psychology. I've wanted to be a psychologist for a couple years now, but when I took the Criminal Justice class here at DACC with Rickey Williams, I was totally inspired. I plan to transfer to Indiana State University after two years here to achieve my Master's Degree. Then I want to file for my LPC and work in a jail as a criminal psychologist. For those of you who don't know what an LPC is, it is basically a certificate saying you are able to counsel people. I just find this field completely interesting.

Some interesting things about me include I love rainbows. My room is pretty much rainbow central. I have 5 piercings on my ears and I also have my eyebrow pierced. I love tattoos! I don't have one of my own yet, but I am typically asked to draw someone's out, which doesn't bother me. I love drawing! I also am entirely in love with music. You can usually find me singing or with a pair of headphones in. I am working on producing my own music with one of my friends. When I'm not absorbed in the college life, I usually spend my time doing odd jobs, drawing out tattoos for others, or hanging out with my fiance, Chris. He actually proposed here at DACC in front of my Criminal Justice class. Let's just say I turned beat red..

I love to meet new people and find out about them. But I will warn you, I am a very outspoken individual. So if you ask for my opinion or advice, I'm going to be straight forward with you. I find that a good quality in not just myself. It's good to be honest.

As for my expectations for this class, I hope to improve my writing tremendously and become more confident for my major papers for classes. My suggestion for the name of this blog is 'Into The Minds of College Students' just because it matches the purpose of this blog. I hope to get to know more of you soon. Don't be afraid to come up and start a conversation with me, I'm pretty random and will keep the conversation going!

Thanks for reading!

Amanda W.

Karah T

Hello everyone, my names Karah Trinkle. It's prounounced as car-uh, but people seem to like care-uh better. Anyways, I recently graduated from Bismarck-Henning High School and I love college. The newly found independence  and adventure have taken control, until things start to become more difficult I suppose. My major is psychology and I currently cheer for DACC. I plan to transfer to Indiana state, EIU, or Southern after these two years and hopefully cheer there also. My hobbies would be singing, dancing and hanging out with friends. I am currently employed at the South Gilbert Subway as a part time job. I would like to become a better writer after this class, because I know I have plenty of room to improve. I've never blogged before either, so I suppose this is a good way to start. I think Blogging 101 would be a good name for this. There isn't any real reasoning, just sounds about right. Thanks for reading!

Sincerely,
Karah Trinkle

Hi, I’m Baylea. I graduated from Georgetown-Ridgefarm high school last May. I’m the middle sister of three. I love to read and write when the mood strikes me. The authors that I love to read most are Ted Dekker, Tami Hoag, and J. K. Rowling. I’m a very big Harry Potter lover; my favorite book from the series is Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. My favorite character from the series, other than Harry, is Luna Lovegood. I like her because she’s not afraid of what people think of her and her beliefs. Batman is my absolute favorite hero because he is just a man with no super powers and my favorite villain is the Joker because he is not ever after much, just complete and utter chaos.  When not reading, I enjoy watching movies and the bonus material to see the behind the scenes stuff. Some of my favorite movies are The Batman series, Hary Potter series, The Crow, and quite a few more. The actor that I would really love to meet is Johnny Depp. I like to listen to music when I need a background noise or to help me focus. My favorite band to listen to is Skillet. So that's just a little me. My suggestion is 'The Thoughts of College Students'

Rhetoric 101 Blogging-David Sacre

Hey everyone! My name is David Sacre, and I graduated from Catlin High School in May of 2012. This is my first time experiencing college, and so far it is a lot better than high school. The college lifestyle allows me to have more independence and free time. My interests consist of hanging with my friends, playing sports, and just enjoying life in general. My academic goal is to obtain a bachelor's degree in Sports Management. After obtaining my degree, I want work for a professional sports organization. The two things I want to get out of this class are: preparation for real-world writing and learning various types of writing. I have never blogged before, so this is a new experience for me, but I believe blogging is one of the many types of writing I need to experience. As for a blog name, I believe Rhetoric 101 Blogging will work because it is simple and to the point.

Hi everyone, my name is Paige Andres. I graduated from Danville High School in May of 2012. I am taking my general classes at DACC for the time being. I am not exactly sure what I want to do with my life or what I would like to major in. I spend most of my time outside of DACC working. I work at Paw-A-Day Inn K9 Suites in Tilton IL. It is a dog hotel. I try to spend my left over time with my family, friends, and taking care of my 16 week old shepard lab puppy, Diesel. I am in the Rhetoric and Composit 101-D class. I am expecting this class will help me be a better writer and become confident in my writing. I really do not like to write because I feel like I am not good at it. So hopefully I can get a little better at writing. My favorite writing is descriptive. I feel like descriptive writing broadens my horizon with new adjectives and other words. I have actually never blogged, I have read blogs from friends but I never felt like my life was interesting enough to blog about. So the writing part is very new to me. Someone mentioned "Room 109" for the blog title and I think that would be a cool name for the blog.

Ashley Kocanda

Hello my name is Ashley Kocanda and I was born in Champaign, IL. My parents are of Austrian and Canadian decent and both have attended DACC. I currently attend Westville Highschool and am in my senior year of school. I have also taken College Biology 101 over the summer and am currently enrolled in Rhetoric 1 and Psychology. I presently volunteer at Provena United Samaritans where I work mainly with the elderly, transporting them throughout the hospital. My favorite subject in school is Psychology because anything that deals with people in general and how we work is very interesting for me to learn about. When I'm not at school I enjoy listening to music, hiking and playing video games, my favorite type of video game would have to either be MMO's (Massively Multiplayer Online game) on pc or solo RP games on Xbox. My favorite type of writing is Sci-Fi fiction, I love being able to put all my creative energy into a paper and making it come to life. I am not going to lie I have never been a creative person when it came to names for things but I wouldn't mind something simple like Blogster for this page.

Hi everyone! My names Jessica Edenburn. I'm 22 years old. I live in Georgetown, Illinois. I graduated from Jamaica High School in 2008. I moved to Bloomington, Illinois for about a year to get my cosmetology license. I worked in a few salons, I then decided doing hair was not for me and needed a little more excitement and a more stable career. Though going back to school tends to scare most people I decided to go for it anyway. I one day want to be a registered nurse so that is why I'm currently enrolled at DACC. I worked with the mentally handicapped for about 6 months and loved every minute of it. I love to take care of people and I work hard so I know I'll make a great nurse. On a more personal level I have a boyfriend who I spend most my time with and adore. I hope one day to move away from here possibly California, or Colorado. I spent most of my summer living life to fullest and attending as many concerts as possible, it was a blast and I loved every minute of it but was sad to see it come to an end! I'm obviously out going and love meeting new people. I love love love music and anything outdoors. I spend some of time riding our 7 signature horses at our arena with my family. I'm not a blogger what so ever so I'm not enjoying this assignment and can't stand to rant about myself and things no one else cares, nor wants to read about. So to rap this up English is definitely my least favorite subject I hate to write, and I'm terrible with words. Hopefully I will gain something from this class and hopefully that is to be a better writer. As for a name for this blog, I really don't have a clue, but I'm sure someone else will come up with something great!

Mustards Last Blog - Vince Balsamello

Hey guys, my name is Vince Balsamello.  I am currently enrolled in Rhetoric Composite Eng101, as well as Criminal Investigation, Computers, and Sociology.  I graduated from Westville High School this year (2012) and intended on attending Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, but I decided to stay home and attend local classes here at DACC and eventually transfer to SIU-Carbondale after this year.  Just to tell you all a little about myself, I live in Westville, I enjoy playing basketball, relaxing, chilling with my friends, watching my favorite NFL football team the Tennessee Titans, and believe it or not, attending my classes here.  I enjoy the college lifestyle mainly because of the independence, the work is a struggle at times but as long as I pass my classes it shouldn't be too stressful.  I am not too familiar with blogging so I'm sure that I can learn something from this as well as all of you.  My favorite type of writing is argumentative writing, due to the fact that I love arguing even if I'm wrong, which would make for a good lawyer.  I am not fully sure why I enjoy argumentative writing so much other than trying to prove someone wrong by proving the facts that I know against the facts that they know.  Other than that, I hope I pass this class at the end of the semester and complete my future goal of becoming a police officer.

Thank you,
Vince Balsamello
Hello everyone, I'm Breanna Hargrove. I graduated from Oakwood High School in 2012. I'm majoring in Criminlolgy/Criminal Justice, and plan to spend two years at DACC and then transfer to Indiana State University for my Bachelor's Degree. I'm not really sure what I want to do with my degree yet, but I am currently taking a Criminal Investigation class and I already love it, so I guess we'll see where that goes. One of my biggest dreams is to someday go to law school and become apart of the Innocence Project, which is a group of lawyers who find evidence to help release innocent prisoners. Whenever I'm not in class or at work I enjoy spending my free time with my friends and family. I'm hoping this class will help me organize my ideas better, that way when I have papers in the future, I'll be more confident in my work. I've never blogged before, so I'm not really sure what to expect, but I'm excited to see what everyone has to say, and I dont have any interesting ideas for the name of our blog, but I think room 109 sounds acurate, since we are in roon 109.

The World According To Faw

Hello, classmates. If you have made your way to my post intentionally, welcome. If you managed to come to this post by mistake, I welcome you regardless. I am a complex individual; I do not intend to offend, but if any of my posts, comments, or viewable material offends you, I sincerely apologize. Now, to begin.

My name Is Jon Faw. I am a senior at Catlin High School, and I am trying to get my freshman year of required rhetoric out of the way before I begin college (hopefully) at a larger university. I work at Mike's Grill in Tilton, and I love my job. I also love music; I've been playing bass guitar for 10 years or so. If anyone did anything for that long, they must love it. I have an odd sense of humor that I like to use frequently on unsuspecting strangers or acquaintances. I also enjoy watching movies, watching television, playing video games, playing non-varsity sports, playing scholastic bowl, and working. My suggestion for the name of the blog would be, "RhetorDACC". It's not my best work, but it is my best though. If you want to know me better, or just stalk me for any reason, feel free to add me on Facebook. I hope you all have enjoyed my post, and I hope to enjoy all of yours.

Genuinely yours,

Jon Faw

Hey everyone, my name is Kylan Kurkendall. I graduated from Oakwood High School, Class of 2012. I’m working towards my associate’s degree in general education and plan to transfer to the Musicians Institute in Hollywood, California and work towards my Bachelors in Music. I hope to become a better writer as a result of this class. I want to be able to organize my ideas better and put them down on paper in a way that the reader won’t get lost in what I am saying and be able to follow what I am writing better. I have never blogged before so I am very unfamiliar with it and how it work and I am unsure of my expectations of it. I hope to be able to learn from other people on this blog and get to know some new people. I think the name for the blog should be called the Rhet blog. That seems like an appropriate title to me.
