The email sent by "President Barack Obama" to hope to obtain money for his campaign for re-election.  The email was very basic and simple, whoever wrote it either didn't have much time on their hands or they were to simple minded.  Well if you think Mr. Obama actually wrote the email chances are better that people would donate money to him but if people don't believe that he wrote it chances for donations are minimal.  The writer, he/she, didn't actually make the email pertain to an exact audience but I assume that the email is for people that are eligible to vote.  The writer's main intentions for writing this email is basically to see who will actually respond to this email. Another question that arises is that if someone was to believe Mr. Obama sent this and donated the $3 how would you know that it actually would go to aid in his campaign fund.  I believe that this email is too generic to be written by a person of with the authority of the President of the United States.  Even though the email is really generic the writer does do a good job with persuading the person to feel important that his or her $3 can make or break Mr. Obama's re-election campaign fund.

This email sent to Ms. Jarmer is written like they have been acquainted before but the odds of that is unlikely, so that would be more evidence that this email is a possible scam.  The actual wording doesn't state that the donations would go to his fund but we are led on to assume that is what it is for.  Also the text itself doesn't really try to keep the reader intrigued while reading the email.  One more questioning thing about the email is that of; he signs his name as just Barack and in what is supposed to be a formal email they put the subject as " Hey."  The text in the message is definitely put in a way the average person can easily comprehend.  I personally believe that a better way to promote your campaign funding would have been to make a commercial on television.  This would be a more productive than a email because people would see that Mr. Obama himself would be asking for a donation rather than a email that could be written by anyone willing to do it.

  1. Hey, Dalton, how are you? I agree with what you are saying about Barack Obama’s email. I put in my analysis that the email was in hope to obtain money for the campaign. I think people who received this email were people who have voted for him. I actually thought instead of people thinking it was Mr. Obama but from workers who are working for him. I also agree with the point that the email was really general; it did not specify why three dollars were needed and it does want to make you either investigate the website or just delete the email.
If it were me, I might have just deleted it, would you have done the same? I mean, after all, it does address you as a friend and it is supposedly from the President himself. I for one, would not have been convinced without some evidence. It was really short and too mysterious for my taste. Oh, I like how you pointed out that if the email is from Mr. Barack Obama, why would he say “Hey” as the subject, shouldn’t it be something more formal, maybe just a little more formal even if it was an informal letter. I like how you analyzed the paper. It was easy to follow and you made a lot of good points.

  2. Hey Dalton, what's up? I agree with what you are saying about Mr. Obama's email. If you actually work for or with President Obama then you would of had a lot of previous education. Meaning that this email would of been written a lot better. The degree of which this email was wrote also rules that President Obama did not write it either. The whole purpose of this email was to raise money for his re-election campaign. I agree with the fact that the email was very boring to read, even though it was so short. Another thing I believe is that if he actually wanted your money or support he would try a little harder to reach out to the people, even if he didnt write the email. After all the people are the ones who get him into office again. He needs to add a little jazz and spice up the email. Also, it is hard to donate moeny online. This would be more of a hassle that to actually donate the $3. I think if he actually wants the money to help his campaign than he needs to go in public or have someone go in public to personally collect money from the people.
