(╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Oppression and political rhetoric often go hand in hand. Take this image for example. It doesn’t take much scrutiny to figure out what the author’s views are on the Democratic Party. The author portrays the Democratic Party as crying infants. This is obviously stereotyping at its finest. Stating that the whole group does the same things can’t be labeled as anything else. This type of image is referred to as a demotivational poster on the internet and is a parody of the motivational posters one finds in an office space or library. They usually serve no other purpose than to entertain for a short while. This is no different. The author isn’t trying to convince everyone that every person in the Democratic Party is a whining babe, but instead it reflects the author’s views and tries to entertain those of a like mind. Although it uses oppressive language it isn’t trying to convince anyone anything and its only goal is to entertain. To those who would agree with the author this is probably entertaining, but for myself I don’t care about politics so I don’t really find this funny or displeasing.

This article also fits into political rhetoric quite obviously as well. It deals with one of the two major political parties in the U.S. The author is most likely either an independent or more than likely a republican. It wouldn’t make sense for him to mock the very party they support. It could be that they created this to be used in an argument about how everyone else sees the Democratic Party. However, I think that it is probably someone who does not currently like the current administration. The use of oppressive language also helps support the theory that the author dislikes the Democratic Party. The language used in the text below the image also suggests that this is meant in a humorous tone. That is how I would interpret reading it, however, I am known for completely misreading situations and what someone meant in writing so my theory could be completely wrong and I could be a complete idiot. The only way to truly find out what message the creator of this image intended when they created it is to ask the author themselves. After reading more of this authors work it is evident that he enjoys mocking the government and things they say and later contradict themselves I think my theory is close to what he meant.
