Direct TV has many commercials concerning not switching from cable to Direct TV. In their  commercials they have several scenarios that may happen to you if ou don't switch. Each scenario is very extreme and would honestly probably never happen to anyone in a million years and that's why they're so funny to people. The main issue with these videos is, does it actually have an affect on people? Would more people switch if it showed people all their channels that cable doesn't have but they do. And the affordable prices and packages hat pervide DVR with several DVR recordings. Is making your audience laugh a better way to reel them in? Everyone loves to laugh but when it comes to financial oases it probably isn't going to make a difference. To me these commercials aren't serious or intreging enough to make me want to switch TV network providers. Though thy so provide a pretty good chuckle.                                                                                  
One of my favorite commercials of theirs is the one with the father that ends up with a grandbabys with a dog collar all because he threw a fit one day over having cable which caused his daughter to throw fits in life and ends up a wreck, married o a loser and dressing their child in a dog collar. To me this commercial is funny but it doesn't do the trick. There's no way this could ever be something to worry about so why would that make me want to switch to direct TV. I get the humor of it but on a serious note this is actually just a waste of money if they are really wantin to boost sales and ratings. When I first watched this commercial I ha forgotten what it was actually about. It's funny and not seriouse at all so why would people make such a seriouse decision to change networks.
