Every time I go into a store that sells tobacco I see a sign that says that this. Every store has its guidelines that it had to follow and if it does not follow the rules it will be closed. This sign is at Walmart and it is the place where most of the citizens in Danville go to get their food and clothes. The law states that a person must be 18 or older to buy tobacco products. Walmart has the responsibility to keep these products away from the under age children. If a company is caught selling illegal products to under age children the company and the workers that work for the company can be punished by the law. Being closed is only one consequence of the illegal selling and also being given a heavy fine or maybe even jail time.That is why the store has the sign to warn people that the will be checking for identification.

This picture needs to be placed near every tobacco selling building so that everyone will see it. I also think that a sign should be posted and state the minimun sentence time  for selling tobacco to underaged citizens and also have a child behind bars.The sign should also say that if a person is caught with a fake i.d. they will have the police called on them and they will be given a fine or even sent to jail. The best way for this sign to make the best impact on people would be if the sign had a picture of a real i.d. and also a fake i.d. on it. So whenever someone tries to use a fake i.d. everyone around the person would be able to see what it looks like and they will be able to say something to the authority right away. This sign is at Walmart but it needs to be at every store and gas station ever where that has tobacco products.
